Assistant Molecular Biologist

South Exeter, EX6

Contract intially until 2nd October 2026

In this role you will be performing Bacteriology testing in support of Government Agencies and the devolved government’s scanning surveillance policies.

Key Tasks:

1) Submission registration using LIMS software, 
2) Reagent Production, 
3) performing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays, 
4) use of specialist equipment such as PCR machines, liquid handling robots, plate readers, centrifuges, 
5) Various supporting tasks to maintain laboratory testing activities, 
6) Supporting local management in the maintenance of safety and quality standards. 
7) Working to ISO17025, 

Essential Requirements:

• Laboratory experience.
• Experience of ELISA and PCR assays.
• A degree in a related scientific field.
• Experience in techniques related to general bacteriology/Microbiology.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office Software.
