Laboratory Operational Support Technician

Starcross, Devon

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00

£12.82 per hour

Temporary for 12 months 

Lab Assistant role within a busy testing laboratory. Range of duties as follows:

Delivers straightforward tasks and assist in the delivery of the technical and scientific services to support the laboratory staff and operations and bring about environmental outcomes.

To provide support to all sections of the laboratory at Starcross. Assist in day-to-day activities including deliveries, cleaning of laboratory glassware, waste collections, equipment checks, preparation/orders for sample bottles, sample disposal, administration and occasional visitor reception duties.

Assist other operational support work groups when needed.

Comply with health and safety protocols and wear protective clothing (PPE) as required.

Candidate:

Organised with good written and verbal communication skills.

Able to use various IT systems after appropriate training.

Some science background or previous lab assistant experience would be helpful but is not essential as training will be given.

Candidates should already live locally to Starcross and be able to commute easily.
