We would be looking for candidates who already live locally, and can start within 2 weeks of an offer.  All science disciplines will be considered, but priority given to those with a Chemistry background.

Our client is a multinational consumer goods corporation; specializing in a wide range of personal care and hygiene products; organized into several segments including Beauty; Grooming; Health Care; Fabric & Home Care; and Baby and Feminine care.

Role:

Working on a project involving laundry products.
Weighing, preparation of samples, analysis of products and items.

Reporting results.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Based in Newcastle, United Kingdom. This role comprises laboratory support work, and working with Enzymes. 

Overview:

The Lab Assistant will support laboratory staff with routine tasks. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing lab materials, cleaning and maintaining equipment, labelling and sorting samples, running routine tests, recording basic data, and ensuring work areas follow safety standards. This position requires attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and safety protocols, preferred laboratory experience and chemistry background.

Weighing product and making solutions - Preparation and testing of formulations, including preparation of products for consumer tests - Physical and chemical analysis of formulations/products.

Summarizing, reporting and communicating data findings and results, using Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint/Word.

Performing large or small scale performance tests following defined test methods.

General housekeeping and ensuring labs are kept appropriately according to operating procedures.

Running mechanical equipment and computer activated test methods

The role will involve working with chemicals and may require working with enzymes and perfumes.
