Stephen Hern BSc – Director and Senior Consultant

Steve graduated from the University of Nottingham in 1994 with a BSc (Hons) Theoretical & Mathematical Physics. After working with Lloyds Pharmacy as an EDI Project Manager he joined Jobs in Science in 1998 as a Founder / Director. Steve has over 25 years of recruitment experience in the science sector and currently has a focus within the business on Account Management and Business Development.

Paul Talbot BSc – Director and Senior Consultant

Paul graduated from the University of Warwick in 1994 with a BSc (Hons) Microbiology and Microbial Technology. Paul has a background working in laboratories, most notably working with the Home Office Forensic Science Service in Birmingham as a Scientist / DNA Analyst. In 1997 he founded Jobs in Science and with over 25 years of experience he is the most experienced consultant with unrivalled knowledge of the science recruitment sector.

Sarah Roache BSc – Senior Recruitment Consultant

Sarah graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2017 with an Honours degree in Zoology. After a yearlong break travelling across Australia, she joined the Jobs in Science team in June 2019. After quickly picking up the principles of resourcing, Sarah has developed into a confident and highly effective Recruitment Consultant and is at home communicating effectively with both candidates and clients; she is currently the lead consultant on all environmental based roles and manages a large contract with a government body at multiple sites across England. Sarah has also obtained her Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice from the REC & Payroll Diploma.

Joanne Hern BA – Recruitment Consultant

Joanne joined the team in 2021 to work as a Consultant with Jobs In Science and its sister Recruitment Agency JIS Recruitment. Joanne has been instrumental in establishing JIS Recruitment and negotiating new business with clients across the Midlands. Joanne holds a BA Hons in Literature from University of the West of England, and is also a qualified English teacher, who has previously worked in several Secondary schools and as a Senior Regional Trainer for a private educational training company. Joanne has been able to seamlessly transfer her skillset and has become a valued member of the team expanding our sister brand JIS Recruitment.

Jemma Turner AAT Level 2 – Finance and Administration Manager

Jemma is a part qualified Accountant and has joined the Jobs in Science team to manage the finance and administration functions. Jemma has been with us for over 4 years and is a crucial member to our team. With a wealth of experience gained in the recruitment sector, Jemma has a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of candidate on-boarding requirements for both permanent and contract recruitment. Jemma has also obtained her Human Resource Management Diploma and acts as our dedicated point of contract for any HR related queries.

Natasha Legge BA – Recruitment Consultant

Natasha (Tash) is our newest team member, joining us in 2022. Tash works as a Consultant with our sister Recruitment Agency JIS Recruitment. Tash studied BA Honours Degree in Youth Justice in Nottingham before starting her career in recruitment. Tash is developing quickly into a confident recruiter & is already proven to be a key asset in our growing team. Tash is currently studying towards her Certificate in Recruitment Practice, level 3 REC qualification.
