Technical Sales Engineer – Renewable Energy

Our client is a leader in the development, manufacture and supply of a range of scientific measurement and control instrumentation for use in a variety of sectors such as meteorology, water, environmental, energy, infrastructure and gas monitoring. Due to continued strong global growth they are now seeking to appoint a Technical Sales Consultant to focus on the growing Renewable Energy market. This is mainly an office-based role but does involve travel to visit customers across the UK and Europe on a regular basis.
Respond to customers enquiries promptly and efficiently including quotations, sales, returns, loans and sales visits.
Advise customers in selecting and using the Company’s products and services, to solve their applications requirements.
Provide technical and manufacturing information to Production Department, where necessary for the completion of orders, including non-standard products and services.
Promote and demonstrate the Company’s products and services at exhibitions or to customers where appropriate.
Undertake travel away on Company business when required, including overnight stops in the UK and overseas (up to 25%).
Take responsibility for specific areas of marketing, Company products or services.
Identify and develop strong long-term relationships with customers and end-users at the forefront of the Company’s markets, to ensure products are seen as a leading brand.
Maintain and develop strong long-term relationships with existing customers and continue to sell existing and new services to them.
Degree / HND in science, engineering, electronics or mathematics.
Some relevant sales experience desirable, ideally in meteorological / climate, environmental, energy, aviation or other scientific monitoring industry, but other sectors considered.
Commercial awareness and exceptional customer service skills.
Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing. High standard of English.
Customer facing ability.
Well organised and able to use initiative.
Full Driving Licence.
Ability to speak another European language an advantage but not essential.
