Technical Sales Consultant - Capital Equipment Job in Remote

Our client is one of the UK’s leading multi-agency distributors of capital equipment to key industries including, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, paints, nanotechnology and cosmetics. Their expanding technical division partners exclusively in the UK with a leading Swiss manufacturer of agitator bead mills which are used increasingly in a range of precision grinding and dispersing applications in the above sectors.
This new role will play a key part in providing technical support to UK based customers to ensure that client expectations are fully understood, met, and exceeded. You will maintain and develop sales pipelines, achieve budgets, margins and ensure sales growth. The role is customer facing and you will be comfortable negotiating with lower management up to director level for individual sales. As part of the sales team, you will also work on larger projects with long sales cycles, offering evidence-based support to customers to guide and influence their sales decisions.
Candidate:
Degree or higher in a science or engineering subject with experience and knowledge of engineering applications in areas such as biotechnology / cell disruption, biochemistry or nanotechnology.
Industry experience in paint technology, food technology, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing would be an advantage.
Previous technical sales experience is highly desirable, ideally selling capital equipment.
Experience as an Applications Specialist in a relevant sector would also be considered.
A technical or project management background. Individual product and technology training will be available direct from the manufacturer.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic, ambitious, and willing to work using your own initiative, you will also be comfortable working as part of a team on large projects.
Confident and a strong communicator at all levels with relevant commercial experience is essential.
Experience with a modern CRM, such as Sales Force, desirable.
Visits to the company Head Office will be required for sales, management, and strategy meetings.
This role requires both domestic and international travel as and when required so a current valid Driving Licence and Passport are essential.
