Systems Integration Engineer in Leicestershire

Our client is a leading scientific measurement and control instrumentation manufacturer specialising in metrology equipment, systems and solutions for the environmental sector. Due to continued growth and expansion they are now seeking a qualified and professional Systems Integration Engineer to join their busy European Operation.

In this role you will provide the technical expertise and leadership for project and complex system design and delivery. Working with both customers and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to the technical design and technical response in the proposal phase and be responsible for  the solution design, build, test, installation and commissioning during the project delivery phase.

Key tasks will include:

System and solution design and build for a range of projects.

Selection and configuration of the correct products to meet the design brief.

Identification and design of the communication, power and integration points.

Identify software architecture or bespoke software engineering that may be required and undertake some software programming for the company’s range of data loggers.

Manage the creation, documentation and execution of; internal and client-based testing, system installation, commissioning, user training and customer support.

Review and writing of tender response in terms of hardware and software technical compliance to support sales proposals.

Provide technical and manufacturing information to production teams including details for non-standard products and services.

Candidate:

Degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or another technical / engineering subject.

Proven experience of working in a project engineering environment delivering a variety of technical projects.

Background and experience in designing technical solutions and systems inclusive of both hardware and software architecture.

Industry knowledge and experience from the aviation, environmental or renewable energy sectors an advantage.

Experience in using Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD and\or solid works, to design a system including communication and power designs.

Background and experience of designing a wide variety of communications types such as Direct RS232/422/485, radio, mobile, IoT, ethernet, Satellite.

Able to undertake and manage bespoke software creation using programming tools for Dataloggers or Automation devices (such as PLC’s or similar). Programming in C++ would be desirable though training will be provided.

You will be an excellent communicator and have a strong customer focus.

Full Driving Licence required.
