Senior Research Scientist - Complex Particles in Stockton-on-Tees

The role

  • Discussing project needs; set up, plan and execute scientific experiments and analyse, interpret and report results to agreed timescales
  • Provide clearly documented records of technical data, decisions, methodologies, calculations and software using an agreed format
  • Contribute to the delivery of formulation projects through the provision of Complex Particles knowledge
  • Apply measurement techniques to demonstrate properties of Complex Particles.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent and documented compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), quality and best practice requirements.
  • Identify new developments and trends and initiate the creation of (new) technological innovations/applications.
  • Set up, plan and ensure the execution of (scientific) experiments, analyse, interpret and report results to agreed timescales and translate obtained findings and knowledge.
  • Be responsible for agreeing weekly workplans with line manager and project manager(s) and delivering plan to agreed schedule.
  • Provide clearly documented records of technical data, decisions, methodologies, calculations and software use in an agreed format.
  • Formulate and present possible solution directions and issue advice at request or at own initiative.
  • Build, maintain and exploit a network of relevant national external stakeholders, customers, partners, research organisations and authorities, represent Formulation in networks and discuss and lobby for projects and future developments.
  • Coach and develop other professionals in field of Complex Particles. ?
  • Provide specific technical support to the Business Development Team relating to proposal/ project development and direct customer engagement.

 

Skills and Experience

Significant, demonstrated laboratory experience in powder (Complex Particles) processing tools and strong knowledge of powder (Complex Particles) materials characterisation is essential.

Qualifications/Other essential requirements

Degree level (or equivalent) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering

Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

A clean, full UK driving licence.
