Senior Defence Analyst Job in Hampshire
Candidates will need to have significant or undertaking defence analysis at significant depth and experience of working across a range of domains.
Candidates need a current active SC Clearance.
A numerical / scientific / technical degree is highly desirable and professional operational analysis / operational research qualifications are also highly desirable.
Our clients programme has been created to provide the Defence Industry with a comprehensive source of advice on emerging science, technologies and future concepts that could impact Defence. Our clients role, is also to promote how the emerging science, technologies and concepts may be used and combined in future capabilities; the issues and challenges they could precipitate; and the S&T investments and policies needed to fully exploit them to senior decision makers, so changes can be made now.
Candidates would be expected to provide an expert professional contribution and have significant experience of undertaking and leading defence analytical products and teams in a range of analytical areas and domains. This would include linking the strategic intent with the day to day activities at a project and programme level across a range of studies. You would need to taking a systemic view across projects, departments, capabilities and domains and supporting others to achieve and maintain the highest levels of delivery, which focus on benefits realisation.
More specifically withing the programme we require organised and experienced defence analysts to work across the Programme to understand, translate and promote emerging science, technologies and concepts to appropriate stakeholders.
Plan scientific or technical projects to define a part of the research and development programme. To lead and carry out research and development to deliver agreed project outputs which significantly improve systems, products or advice. To lead the presentation and publication/documentation of work internally and externally in order to communicate advice and/or maintain scientific/technical capability and integrity and to promote reputation. To train and support staff both within their team and more widely to enhance scientific/technical capability. To manage the scientific or technical research projects to improve systems or products.
Lead/support the emerging trends work, including collating and completing material, updating existing documentation, scheduling meetings, building and maintaining relationships across the programme and beyond.
Support the development of Futures ‘Cases for Change’, our key emerging concepts and hypotheses.
