Opportunity to work as a Scientific Lead / Programme Manager with a prestigious research organisation. The project involves researching antimicrobials / antibiotic use within animal health and animal food chains.

Requirements:
PhD in Microbiology or Veterinary Microbiology.
Extensive relevant post-doctoral experience.
Experience working with industry eg pharma or SMEs desirable.
Familiarity with antimicrobial usage in the veterinary/animal food sector desirable.
Demonstrable team management and leadership skills. Able to supervise PDRAs and DPhil/PhD students and have experience of DPhil/PhD mentorship.
Experience in writing successful grant applications.
Track record in writing high-calibre articles in high-impact papers.
Excellent organisational and project management skills – with the ability to manage a diverse range of activities.
Subject Matter Expert – must possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and innovative methods.
Ability to work independently in a complex and changing environment, taking initiative when necessary and prioritising effectively.
Excellent communication skills – oral and written – adapting style to varied audiences (academic and non-academic).
Planning and managing of research budgets.
