Part Time Accounts Assistant in Staffordshire

This is an excellent opportunity for a Part Time Accounts Assistant looking for variety within their role as this position will cover purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control duties.

Key Responsibilities

Process and maintain Sales Ledger including:

  • Post and allocate multi-currency payments on Sage 200
  • Post and reconcile Worldpay and PayPal payments
  • Liaise with customers to provide sales ledger support
  • Raise and process credit notes

Credit Control:

  • Report on Aged Debtors
  • Chase outstanding payments
  • Communicate payment issues to relevant staff

Process and maintain Purchase Ledgers including:

  • Post supplier invoices
  • Liaise with Suppliers on Purchase Ledger enquiries and to chase missing paperwork
  • Match, check and file supplier invoices, company POs and import documentation
  • Record and allocate payments on Sage 200
  • Prepare weekly supplier invoice and goods received reports
  • Reconcile supplier Statements against Purchase Ledger


  • Responsible for accurate and efficient storage of invoices and other financial information using company CRM, Sage 200 and filing system.
  • General admin and cover for other departments as required

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience in an accounts role. They will be a confident and ambitious individual who is dedicated to achieving excellent standards throughout their work.

They must be:

  • Highly motivated with a pro-active, diligent, well-organised approach to their workload
  • An excellent communicator with a confident telephone manner
  • Able to build relationships quickly to effectively support our staff, customers and suppliers
  • Able to competently use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Sage Accounts packages

Ideally they will have:

  • AAT Level 1 or have equivalent professional experience
  • Experience of using Sage 200
  • Worked in a multi-currency environment, import/export environment

Package Details:

  • 20 hours over 4 or 5 days per week with flexibility to complete additional hours if needed.
  • Salary range: £7, 800 - £9, 500 dependent on experience (equivalent to full time salary of £15,600 - £19,000)
