Materials Technician in London area
Our client is a multi- disciplined environmental, materials and scientific consultancy based in North West London who are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Technician. This full-time position will provide support to our Materials Consultant. The successful candidate will have a Materials Science degree (or similar) and have experience in one or more of the following disciplines: construction materials assessments, concrete, paint and / or flooring assessments.
This role would require closely liaising with our clients, laboratory and site work which due to our clients’ needs may at times require attendance during ‘unsociable hours’ so flexibility to work nights and weekend work is essential.
The role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to gain invaluable experience of working within a diverse environmental consultancy.
• Undertake laboratory and site work
• Slip resistance of flooring assessments
• Paints and coatings surveys
• Concrete testing and surveys
• On site assessments of paint coatings for reaction to fire potential
• Prepare technical reports (by recording the results from the field work undertaken)
• Liaise with clients
This position would ideally suit a practical, well organised individual who is self-motivated and an excellent communicator (both written and verbal). The successful candidate will need to be fit to carry out on-site testing (equipment will need to be carried). Existing competencies in the testing of concrete will be looked on favourably. A full clean UK driving licence will be required for this role. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK for at least 2 years (applicants with student visas will not be considered).
The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week.
