Experimental Physicist or Physical Chemist in Hertfordshire

The Job:

 

Instrument and experimental design.

Planning and execution of experiments.

Analysis of data.

Modelling.

Formulation and presentation of conclusions and Report writing.

 

The Duties:

 

Responsible for aspects of research, development, implementation, design and analysis of technical prototype equipment, products and sub-systems.

Provide scientific input to the design, build and testing of prototype equipment.

Recommends alterations to designs to improve equipment performance.

Provide hands-on support and up to date technical advice to project manager.

Critically appraises experimental data and theory and provides guidance based on interpretation of data.

Provides expert judgement and analysis for the research, development, design, and implementation of technical products and systems.

Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research into methodology for improving the design.

 

The Scientist:

 

Must be a UK resident for 5 years continuously. 

Must be British or EU Citizen.

 

Qualified to PhD level. Highly desirable to have experience of analytical instrument design, ion mobility spectrometry or mass spectrometry.  Must be a motivated and self-starting individual capable of driving themselves and others to succeed in project goals as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.  An element of flexibility is highly desirable.  Newly Qualified, or candidates about to submit are welcome to apply.
