Business Development Manager - ELISA in UK
Middle East and Africa
Competitive salary plus commission
UK based role with 70% travel
Our client is a global technology company being a leading designer and manufacturer of fully-automated ELISA microplate workstations, laboratory instruments and associated consumables and accessories. Due to continued expansion and demand for their platforms they are now seeking to appoint a new Business Development Manager covering the Middle East (mainly GCC countries) and Africa territories.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with distributors and OEMs, as well as selling directly to key customers and seeking out opportunities to engage with new clients across the territory.
Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans to achieve sales growth objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all targeted customers and distributors.
Understand and execute marketing plans and provide feedback to identify key resources for adoption of products and new strategic priorities.
Manage budgets and expenses.
Provide technical and administrative product information.
Use Salesforce to create, develop, and manage leads, accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
Liaise with customer support to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Establish a technical support plan for distributors and OEMs.
Prepare regular weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports for business planning and forecasts.
Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related scientific discipline.
An MBA or higher scientific degree would be an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience promoting laboratory-based instrumentation and associated reagents, consumables, accessories, and related services.
Capital equipment sales experience is essential, and knowledge of robotic automation would be desirable.
Proven sales ability with complex, high value, long lead time sales.
Ability to communicate scientific features and benefits of a product and determine and present associated solutions to customers.
Strong presentation skills to individuals or groups.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficient with Microsoft Office.
High standard of English is essential with a technical / working knowledge of local languages such as Arabic and experience in the Middle East territory (GCC area) a must.
Extensive travel required in this role (70%).
Demonstrated ability to work successfully from a home-based office and in a team selling environment.
