Assistant Maltster and Brewer in Berkshire

With industry-leading facilities and expertise they offer analysis, testing and operational support to companies all along the supply chain. The job is based in Nutfield, Surrey.
The role is within the internationally recognised Brewing Services Department. The department provides technical support, advice and data interpretation for the public and private sectors. The focus for the department includes alcoholic beverages such as beer, cider, wine and spirits but they also work with raw materials such as hops and malted barley, as well as soft drinks. The department offers a broad range of technical support activities including sensory, pilot brewing and malting facilities to support clients with NPD, research projects, process engineering and microbiology. They also offer trouble-shooting around issues such as taints and hazes.
The position involves malting and brewing work, analysis. reporting results and supporting pilot malting and brewing. You may be required to assist in other sections within the Brewing Services department.
You need some previous knowledge of the brewing process. It will be of benefit if you have a degree/A levels in scientific subjects, or good experience within the brewing industry. You may be required to move kegs, malt sacks and various ingredients so you must be physically fit enough to do so.
