Analytical Development Chemist - Fixed term 2 yrs in Bedfordshire

Role:

An opportunity has arisen to join a small analytical team who form the Analytical Development Group within the Pharmaceutical Development and Support department.

Your role as an Analytical Development Chemist will involve the development and validation of methods for various analyte and product types in accordance with prescribed protocols using analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, TLC and titrimetric analysis.  The role will also involve the writing of protocols, reports and SOPs.  There will also be an element of equipment troubleshooting and maintenance required within the role.

Other duties and responsibilities include:

 Transfer and training of validated methodology to other analytical areas;

Work independently to research and develop new methods where required; liaise with the Formulation department and regularly communicate progress;

Identify and implement new technologies to improve analytical processes within the laboratory;

Assisting with the provision of stability data for Product Licence applications and Product Licence maintenance;

Performing general laboratory work and duties.

Person:

At least 2 - 3 years relevant experience in developing and validating analytical methods, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment;

A degree (or equivalent) in a chemistry based discipline;

Ability to use computer software packages, such as Chromatography Data Handling, LIMS and Excel, for the collection, processing and reporting of data.  Experience of equipment troubleshooting and maintenance would be beneficial;

Experience in the techniques of HPLC, GC, TLC and titrimetric analysis are required.
