Analytical Chemist in Gloucestershire

With industry-leading facilities and expertise they offer analysis, testing and operational support to companies all along the supply chain. The role is based in Chipping Campden.
The role is within the chromatography section of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. This section comprises of analytical chemists testing food samples for chemical contaminants and nutritional components using chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques. The position involves managing surveillance projects, analysing client samples and supporting associated method development activities. Main duties involve performing all practical work associated with food contact materials (packaging) and global/specific migration analysis. The role will involve preparing samples then interpreting and reporting results to clients.
A degree or equivalent in chemistry, analytical chemistry or similar is required. At least two years of relevant laboratory experience within an accreditation scheme is also required, preferably UKAS ISO 17025. Competency in both GC/MS and LC/MS analytical techniques will be needed. A car will be necessary to commute to the company as public transport is extremely limited.
