Inorganic Analyst

This role is specifically working with COVID samples (partial fragments), on a very important project running until at least December 2021.  The lab currently being re-fitted with state-of-the-art equipment.  Full training will be given.

The lab analyses of Environmental samples accredited to ISO/IEC17025. The team analyses environmental samples for inorganic analysis by a range of different techniques and instrumentation. The lab has a high sample throughput.

The role will be based at the Exeter Science Park from early March and will run 7 days a week, due to the urgency of the samples.  The lab will operate on a shift basis (no nights) and there will be a shift allowance.

You will demonstrate the key capabilities of communication, customer focus, decision making, delivery of work, planning, problem solving and teamwork.

Common techniques used:

ICP-MS

AAS

Ion Chromatography

Continuous Flow

Colour Chemistry

Wet Chemistry Techniques

You will be involved in sample preparation, and the analysis of samples, together with some hands on analysis.  You will be involved in reporting results.

Person:

Available to start in late Feb / early March 2021

Chemistry Degree or closely related.

Ideally already local to Exeter.
