Senior Applications Specialist - Oil and Gas in UK

Our client is a leading global Speciality Chemicals company and they an excellent opportunity for an experienced Applications Scientist to join their Oil & Gas Team. This exciting role is strongly customer facing with the primary responsibility of identifying and delivering innovative solutions for customer and market needs.  The role will involve new product development of speciality chemicals for use in the Oil & Gas industry and leadership of technical projects aimed at developing these products or new data to support existing products used in this market sector.

Duties:

Provide high level technical support to customers in the Oil & Gas sector.

Be the technical lead at specified customers. Build relationships with key technical decision makers in order to persuade customers to include the company’s products in their approval programmes.

Provide product support and guidance to customers and develop solutions to their problems which are sometimes complex.

Technical training of the sales team, agents and customers.

Manage and allocate short and medium term projects and plan, run and monitor progress to deliver results on time.

Offer a creative approach to support new product launches and existing product ranges, including development of new test methodologies and creation of novel finished formulations for promotional means. Design and carry out laboratory experiments.

Identify opportunities for new projects. Enhance knowledge of Oil & Gas market areas and relevant scientific techniques.

Candidate:

Degree in Chemistry or related subject.

Experience working in the Oil & Gas industry in a relevant scientific role, either with a service company or operator.

Specifically, you will have excellent technical knowledge in the Flow Assurance area, with field experience, and ideally knowledge of speciality chemical usage in the Oil and Gas industry.

Proven experience of solving complex problems using creative solutions, as well as coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

An effective team player with strong interpersonal skills to enable you to build good working relationships both internally and externally to the business.

Excellent spoken and written communication skills are essential.
