Materials Science Research Technician in Durham

Materials Science Research Technician

Research Technician required to prepare, test and report elements in Materials Science for a variety of formulation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the laboratories and will offer support to colleagues working on the design and technical delivery of projects. 

Duties include:

Set up, plan and execute scientific experiments and report results to agreed timescales.

Providing clearly documented records of technical data, decisions, methodologies, calculations and software.

Contribute to the delivery of formulations projects through practical Materials Science knowledge.

Applying a range of measurement techniques to characterise and determine material properties.

Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of equipment.

Candidate

Degree in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science.

Significant experience in operating measurement instrumentation for determining material properties is preferred such as Thermal Analysis, DSC, TGA, Particle Size, SEM and Spectroscopy

Experience using common laboratory technology for processing materials.

Proficient with Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
