Technical Sales Consultant – Laboratory / Industrial Capital Equipment
Territory: East Anglia, Home Counties, North London. Ideal Home location: Cambridge, or within 20 miles.
Our client is a leading company selling a range of capital equipment for use in Laboratory and Industrial settings.
They are seeking an experienced sales-person to sell both Laboratory and Industrial capital products primarily into Food, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Chemical markets, and occasionally Hospitals and Universities.
The product range will consist predominantly of weighing equipment including balances, moisture analysers and larger bench mounted scales and floor platforms. They also have a strong portfolio of centrifuges.
Currently the business on the area is split as follows: 90% laboratory (balances and centrifuges) and 10% Industrial / Scales.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate that can increase significantly the proportion of the Industrial business, without sacrificing the laboratory business currently in place. This is a tough challenge but can be done, the client anticipates it might take 2 years to achieve the new target.
In order to be able to do this job the candidate must have a successful track record in selling bespoke solutions rather than simply off the shelf product. However, because the area is supported currently by its laboratory business, they must but be prepared to sell standard lab products too, as most of the current customer enquiries are for laboratory products.
Much of the selling is carried out by demonstration, to show the added value, so the candidate must be prepared, and be able, to transport items up to 20kg from a car to a point of use.
A salary up to £32k will be available to the right candidate who can prove they have been successful in a similar role. An additional OTE bonus of £8k is available which can extend up to £15k for over-performance. The £15k cap will be removed in 2011.
Car is supplied with a choice of fuel schemes to optimise tax.
